This single piston is designed specifically for Nissan's VQ35DE engine, offering a 10.5:1 compression ratio with a dome design. This piston is forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is essential for high-demand performance applications. JE Pistons also incorporates their proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width. Depending on the specific application, a skirt coating is applied to further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also cutting down on operating noise. An accumulator groove may also be included to help reduce combustion gas pressure, which can prevent ring flutter and improve ring seal for more consistent power delivery.
