These pistons are forged in the USA using 2618 aluminum, which offers the high tensile strength needed for performance applications. They feature JE's proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width. This design also saves weight with a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce pressure from combustion gases, leading to better ring seal and consistent power. A skirt coating, if included for this application, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also cutting down on operating noise.
