The proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design is a key feature, minimizing friction and power loss by reducing skirt width. This design also saves weight with a shorter wrist pin. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, which can improve ring flutter and enhance ring seal for consistent power delivery. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation and extended component life. These pistons are machined to a 3.858-inch bore size, with a dome top designed for a 10.50:1 compression ratio.
