These pistons are forged in the USA from 2618 aluminum, which gives them the strong tensile strength needed for high-demand applications. JE uses a proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design that helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons might also include an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and keeping power consistent.
