If you're building a high-performance Small Block Chevy 400 engine, getting the right pistons is crucial for durability and power. JE Pistons has applied over 75 years of experience to these components, forging and machining them entirely in the USA. The unique Forged Side Relief (FSR) design helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also feature an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, leading to better ring seal and more consistent power delivery. Some applications also include a skirt coating that further reduces friction and wear on the cylinder walls, while also helping to quiet down engine noise.

This set is designed specifically for the SBC 400 engine with a 4.145-inch bore and a dome top that displaces 10.8 cc.
