Starting with the proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design, these JE Pistons for your SBC 400 are built to minimize friction and power loss. This design uses a reduced skirt width and a shorter wrist pin, which also helps save weight. JE Pistons has been a leader in forged racing pistons for over 75 years, and this set is a testament to that experience, engineered and machined 100% in the USA.

These pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for high-demand performance applications. The design is specific to the SBC 400 engine and its intended use, aiming for an optimized balance of performance and durability. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also feature an accumulator groove to help reduce combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and preventing flutter. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation.

This set includes eight pistons, each with a dome design, a 4.165-inch bore, and a 1.062-inch compression distance. The included wrist pin is 0.927 inches. It's important to note that these pistons are not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
