They've applied this knowledge to their range of forged pistons for domestic engines, including this set for Small Block Chevrolet applications. These pistons are engineered, forged, and machined entirely in the USA, designed to offer a strong balance of durability and performance for demanding racing environments.

This particular set features JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design. This design helps reduce friction and power loss by using a narrower skirt and a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. The pistons are made from 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, crucial for high-demand performance applications. Depending on the specific engine application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and maintaining consistent power. Additionally, a skirt coating might be applied to further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also contributing to quieter operation.

This is a set of eight flat-top pistons designed for a 4.030-inch bore. They feature a 1.250-inch compression distance and a 0.927-inch wrist pin.
