These pistons are forged in the USA using 2618 aluminum, a material chosen for its high tensile strength, which is crucial for engines pushed to their limits. The FSR (Forged Side Relief) forging design is a key feature here. It reduces skirt width to minimize friction and power loss, while also saving weight. Some applications may also include an accumulator groove, which helps manage combustion gas pressure to prevent ring flutter and improve ring seal for more consistent power delivery. Additionally, a skirt coating, if included for your specific application, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation and longer life. This set includes eight pistons, each with a flat-top design and a 4.045-inch bore. They come with a 1.000-inch compression distance and a 0.927-inch wrist pin.
