This set is designed for SBC (Small Block Chevrolet) engines and features an inverted dome design, ready to handle the demands of high-performance builds. The proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design is a key feature, working to minimize friction and power loss by using a reduced skirt width. This design also allows for a shorter wrist pin, further saving weight. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, which can reduce ring flutter and improve ring seal for more consistent power delivery. Some applications also feature a skirt coating that reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, while also helping to quiet down engine noise.
