They're designed specifically for Subaru EJ Series engines, aiming for an 8.8:1 compression ratio with an inverted dome/dish design. JE Pistons machines these pistons 100% in the USA, incorporating their proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) design. This feature helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and using a shorter wrist pin, which also saves weight. Depending on the specific application, you might also find an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, leading to better ring seal and consistent power delivery. Some applications also include a skirt coating to further reduce friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, which can also help quiet down engine noise.

This kit includes everything you need to get these pistons installed: four pistons, high-quality wrist pins, locks, and JE's Pro Seal premium piston rings.
