This set features JE Pistons' proprietary Forged Side Relief (FSR) forging design, which helps minimize friction and power loss by reducing skirt width and using a shorter wrist pin for additional weight savings. Depending on the specific application, these pistons may also include an accumulator groove to help manage combustion gas pressure, improving ring seal and reducing ring flutter for consistent power delivery. A skirt coating, also application-dependent, further reduces friction and wear on the piston skirts and cylinder walls, contributing to quieter operation and longer component life.
