The high-density polyethylene (HDPE) tube in this K&N intake kit is rotationally molded to help improve the volume of air reaching your engine. This design choice is key to the guaranteed increase in horsepower and torque you can expect. The enclosed air box design is also notable, as it helps shield the washable, reusable High-Flow Air Filter from the heat of the engine bay, which can otherwise reduce performance.
This K&N system uses an oiled cotton filter media in an oversized, conical shape. Under normal highway driving, you can go up to 100,000 miles between servicing the filter. The air box lid is designed for quick, tool-free access when it's time to service the filter. Installation is typically straightforward and can be completed in under an hour.
