This K&N Typhoon cold-air intake kit is what you get when you want your 2003-2006 Mazda 6 with the 2.3L engine to breathe easier. It replaces the factory air filter and intake housing with a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube system. The goal here is to reduce restriction and let more air into your engine, which can lead to more usable power and better acceleration across the RPM range.

The kit includes a K&N high-flow air filter with a black rubber top, designed to be mounted near the driver's side wheel well to capture cooler outside air. This air is then routed through the smooth aluminum tubing into a short ram induction tube, delivering a high volume of clean air directly to the throttle body. The oversized cone filter comes with a water-repellent DryCharger wrap to help protect it from moisture. K&N states the filter can go up to 100,000 miles before needing service, depending on your driving conditions. The aluminum intake tubes feature a silver powder coat finish.

Installation is generally straightforward, often taking 90 minutes or less.
