How often should I clean and re-oil my K&N air filter?

The cleaning interval depends on your driving conditions. K&N recommends cleaning the filter when dirt accumulates to the point that the wire mesh is no longer visible. In normal paved-road conditions, this may be every 50,000 miles. Off-road conditions require more frequent cleaning.

What kind of oil should I use to re-oil my K&N air filter?

You should only use K&N filter oil to re-oil your air filter. Other oils may damage the filter material or not provide adequate filtration. K&N filter oil is specially formulated to work with the cotton gauze filter media.

Does this filter come pre-oiled?

This filter comes pre-oiled from the factory, ready to install. You will need to purchase a K&N filter cleaning kit separately when it's time to service the filter.
