K&N recommends cleaning and re-oiling your filter every 50,000 miles for normal highway use. If you drive in dusty conditions, you may need to clean it more often. Use a K&N filter cleaning kit to maintain the filter's performance.

What kind of oil should I use on my K&N filter?

Use only K&N filter oil. Other oils may damage the filter material or reduce its ability to trap dirt and debris. K&N filter oil is specially formulated to work with the cotton gauze filter media.

Does this filter come pre-oiled?

No, this filter does not come pre-oiled from the factory. You will need to oil it before use. K&N sells filter oil separately.
