Unlike standard twin-tube shocks, the Gas-a-just uses a monotube design with two separate chambers. One chamber has a hydraulic piston and valve that instantly adjusts to your driving needs, so you get responsive handling when you need it. The other chamber holds high-pressure nitrogen gas with a floating piston, which keeps the ride smooth during normal driving but adds extra performance when you demand it, preventing the fade you can get with other shock types.
