This converter is designed to meet Federal emissions requirements, helping you pass emissions tests and keep that warning light off. It's constructed with free-flowing, mandrel-bent tubing and a spun body design that replicates the original equipment for a proper fit and function.
The construction uses high-strength 16-gauge 409 stainless steel tubing for excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring it holds up over time. Magnaflow uses advanced 3D scanning during their research and development to ensure this part fits just like the factory original. The single laser fusion weld on the spun body design greatly reduces the chance of leaks, and its compact, low-mass construction helps with thermal efficiency. Installation is made easier because essential gaskets and hardware are included in the box, and the OE-sized barbed exhaust hangers are made from corrosion-resistant 410 stainless steel. This converter interchanges with several OE part numbers, including 164 490 51 36 and 164 490 52 36. It's designed to meet or exceed Federal emissions requirements for OBDII Federally registered vehicles with California or Federal/EPA Emission systems. Please note that this converter is not CARB approved and cannot be shipped to California.
