These Mahle MS forged pistons are built with 4032 aluminum, a material known for its strength and ability to handle higher temperatures and pressures compared to cast aluminum. They are specifically designed for Small Block Chevrolet (SBC) engines, with a bore size of 4.165 inches, intended for a 3.480 or 3.500-inch stroke crankshaft and a 6.125-inch connecting rod. This combination allows for a displacement of approximately 408 cubic inches, offering a significant increase over stock displacement for improved power output.

The pistons feature a -16cc dish volume, which, when combined with the bore and stroke, results in a 10.4:1 compression ratio with a typical 64cc combustion chamber. This compression ratio is well-suited for naturally aspirated or forced induction applications where a balance between power and pump gas drivability is desired. The 0.927-inch wrist pin diameter is standard for many performance SBC applications, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of connecting rods. Each piston weighs approximately 461 grams, contributing to a well-balanced rotating assembly.
