Built from 2618 aluminum alloy, this Mahle piston set is designed for high-performance LS3 engines, specifically those built to TransAm TA2 homologation standards. These flat-top pistons feature a 4.070-inch bore and a 3.622-inch stroke, with a 1.330-inch compression height, making them suitable for a 377 cubic inch displacement. Each piston weighs 515 grams, contributing to a well-balanced rotating assembly.
The pistons have a -0.4cc dish volume, which, when paired with the correct cylinder head and gasket combination, helps achieve a 10.7:1 compression ratio. This compression level is ideal for naturally aspirated or forced induction applications seeking a significant power increase while maintaining reasonable pump fuel compatibility. The gas-ported design helps to reduce ring land pressure, promoting better ring seal and longevity under demanding conditions.
