This kit includes Manley's Severe Duty? exhaust valves, specifically designed for Ford 429 engines. These valves are crafted from XH-428 material, which offers nearly double the ultimate tensile strength at 1500°F compared to other common exhaust valve materials like EV-8. This makes them a solid option for high-temperature gasoline engine builds where durability under stress is critical.

Manley has put these valves through rigorous fatigue testing, simulating extreme conditions where valves bounce on the seat. Under these demanding tests, the exhaust valves endured up to 100 million cycles at 40,000 psi and 1400°F. For comparison, many competitor valves failed after only 100,000 cycles. The valves also feature chrome stems and hard tips for added longevity, along with swirl-polished under-head areas and fully machined combustion faces to help improve airflow and combustion efficiency.
