This piston set is specifically made for the Ford EcoBoost 3.5L engine, featuring a 3.652-inch bore and a 9:1 compression ratio. These pistons are constructed from domestic 2618 alloy forgings, which are chosen for their superior strength and ability to perform under pressure. They come standard with chrome moly wrist pins, and for some part numbers, Manley offers upgrades to even more durable alloys like 9310 and Turbo Tuff/DLC. The ring lands and grooves are machined to exacting standards, which helps ensure a better seal for the piston rings, leading to more power. Manley also uses specific cam and barrel profiles on the piston skirts. This design helps generate power while also being gentler on your cylinder walls during operation. A unique aspect of Manley's manufacturing process is their fixturing, which allows them to turn the skirt and machine the ring grooves in one operation. This ensures the ring grooves are perfectly square to the skirt, contributing to overall engine health and performance.
