These Manley Race Master exhaust valves are made from XH-426 stainless steel, a material chosen for its strength and ability to handle the heat and stress inside an engine, especially for racing applications up to 8000 RPM. They're a solid choice if you're rebuilding the top end of your Pontiac 400, 428, or 455 engine and need reliable valves that can keep up.
You'll notice the chrome stems and hard tips, which are there to help them last longer and resist wear, even with frequent use. The under-head areas are swirl polished and the combustion faces are fully machined. This design helps improve how air moves through the port and can contribute to better combustion efficiency. These are also recommended for exhaust valves in alcohol-fueled engines, which run hotter and put extra demands on components.
