When you're building a serious big-block Chevrolet engine, starting with a well-built rotating assembly is key. This Manley Performance rotating assembly includes a 4340 forged steel crankshaft, 4340 forged steel H-beam connecting rods, and 2618 forged aluminum pistons. The crankshaft features a 4.250-inch stroke, and the pistons are designed for a 4.560-inch bore with a +43cc combustion chamber volume. This combination creates a 555 cubic inch displacement for your BBC.
The connecting rods are robust H-beams made from 4340 forged steel, and they come equipped with 7/16-inch ARP 8740 cap screws. If you're aiming for even higher power levels, you can opt for ARP 2000 series cap screws. The pistons are Manley's Platinum Series, crafted from 2618 forged aluminum and include premium chrome moly wrist pins. This assembly is rated for up to 900 horsepower with the standard ARP 8740 bolts, and can handle up to 1,500 horsepower when upgraded to the ARP 2000 cap screws.
This rotating assembly is designed for high-performance applications and is not CARB approved, meaning it cannot be shipped to California. It's a solid foundation for a powerful BBC engine build.
