This Manley Performance rotating assembly is built for serious big-block Chevrolet (BBC) engines, specifically designed for a 615 cubic inch displacement with a 4.625-inch stroke and 4.600-inch bore. It features -3cc dish pistons, making it a solid choice for builders looking to create a powerful naturally aspirated or forced induction combination.
At the heart of this assembly is a 4340 forged steel crankshaft, chosen for its strength and durability under high stress. Complementing the crank are 4340 forged steel H-beam connecting rods. These rods come standard with 7/16-inch ARP 8740 cap screws, a well-regarded fastener for performance applications. For those pushing the limits, optional ARP 2000 cap screws are available, significantly increasing the rod's load-carrying capacity.
The pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum, part of Manley's Platinum Series, and include premium chrome moly wrist pins. This combination of materials ensures the pistons can handle the intense heat and pressure generated in a high-performance engine. With the standard ARP 8740 fasteners, this assembly is rated for up to 900 horsepower. Opting for the ARP 2000 cap screws raises that capability to an impressive 1,500 horsepower, offering a clear upgrade path for extreme builds.
