This Manley rotating assembly gives you a complete, well-built package for your Small Block Chevy 383 stroker build. Inside this kit, you'll find a lightweight 4340 forged steel crankshaft, 4340 forged steel H-beam connecting rods fitted with 7/16? ARP 8740 cap screws, and 2618 forged aluminum Platinum Series pistons that come with premium chrome moly wrist pins. This assembly is designed to handle serious power, rated for up to 750 horsepower with the standard ARP 8740 fasteners, and can be upgraded to handle up to 1,500 horsepower with optional ARP 2000 cap screws.
The 3.750-inch stroke crankshaft is forged from 4340 steel, a strong material chosen for its ability to withstand high stress and torque, making it a solid foundation for a performance engine. The H-beam connecting rods are also made from 4340 forged steel, offering excellent strength-to-weight ratio and rigidity needed for demanding applications. The Platinum Series pistons are forged from 2618 aluminum, a material known for its thermal expansion properties, which helps maintain proper piston-to-wall clearance under extreme heat. These pistons feature a +11cc dome, which will affect your compression ratio depending on your cylinder head volume.
When assembling this rotating assembly, ensure you follow proper balancing procedures and torque specifications for the connecting rod cap screws. The ARP 8740 fasteners are a popular choice for many performance builds, but if you plan on pushing your engine beyond 750 horsepower, upgrading to ARP 2000 fasteners is a smart move for added security and reliability.
