This Manley rotating assembly starts with a 4340 forged steel crankshaft, chosen for its strength and ability to handle significant stress. It's designed for a 3.750-inch stroke, creating a 383 cubic inch displacement when paired with the correct bore size for a Small Block Chevy engine. The -4cc piston dish is a specific design choice that helps achieve a particular compression ratio, depending on your cylinder head volume.
The included 4340 forged steel H-beam connecting rods are a solid choice for performance builds. They come standard with 7/16? ARP 8740 cap screws, which are well-suited for builds up to 750 horsepower. If your project demands more, you have the option to upgrade to ARP 2000 cap screws, pushing the assembly's capability up to 1,500 horsepower. The pistons are Manley's Platinum Series, made from 2618 forged aluminum for a good balance of strength and light weight, and they include Premium Chrome Moly wrist pins.
