This Manley rotating assembly starts with a 4.000-inch stroke crankshaft forged from 4340 steel, a material known for its strength and durability under high stress. This is the heart of a 434 cubic inch displacement for Small Block Chevy engines, designed to handle significant power increases over stock configurations. The assembly includes 4340 forged steel H-beam connecting rods, which offer a robust design capable of withstanding the intense forces generated in a performance engine. These rods come standard with 7/16? ARP 8740 cap screws, a well-regarded fastener for performance applications, with an option to upgrade to ARP 2000 cap screws for even greater load-bearing capacity.
Complementing the crankshaft and rods are Manley's Platinum Series pistons. These are forged from 2618 aluminum, a common choice for performance pistons due to its excellent thermal expansion properties and strength. They feature a -20cc dish volume, which helps achieve a specific compression ratio when paired with appropriate cylinder heads.
