It's CNC machined from 6061 T6 aluminum, making it lighter than a stock cast iron unit, which helps the engine rev up more quickly. This particular flywheel is multi-drilled to fit various clutch patterns and is designed for an 8-bolt crankshaft, fitting 1996-2004 4.6L, 2011-2017 3.7L and 5.0L, and 2000 5.4L Mustangs.

You get a replaceable steel friction plate, which is important for clutch engagement and wear, and a hardened 1045 steel ring gear for durability.
