The formula works by hand or with a dual-action polisher, and it goes beyond simple scratch removal by leaving behind a layer of polymer wax protection. That means once you work out a scratch, the area gets a thin protective coat that helps keep it looking clean. It is safe on all glossy paint types and clear coats, though Meguiar's notes it should not be used on matte or satin finishes.
