Meguiar's Ultimate Compound cuts through all of them using what they call micro-abrasive technology, which breaks down into finer and finer particles as you work the product, so it starts cutting and finishes polishing in one step.

What makes this compound approachable for non-professionals is that it is not overly aggressive. You can apply it by hand with a foam applicator pad or use a dual-action polisher if you have one, and you will not risk cutting through the clear coat the way you might with a heavy-cut rubbing compound. It is safe on both clear coat and single-stage paint. The 15.2 oz bottle provides enough product for multiple correction sessions on a full vehicle.

For best results, work in small sections, apply moderate pressure, and wipe clean with a microfiber towel. If the paint still looks dull after compounding, follow up with a polish and wax — compound removes defects but does not leave behind protection. This is the correction step, not the finishing step.
