This intercooler features a robust bar-and-plate core that's 4 inches thick, giving it a total volume of 625 cubic inches, making it one of the largest top-mounts available. The dense, offset fin pitch is optimized for heat transfer, allowing it to support vehicles making up to 500 horsepower. Mishimoto's engineers spent months developing and testing this intercooler, and their testing showed a 35°F drop in charge air temperature, along with a bolt-on power increase of 15 horsepower and 8 lb-ft of torque on a test vehicle with a Mishimoto downpipe and Stage 2 tune. The end tanks are durable cast aluminum, TIG-welded to the core for a solid connection. Installation is straightforward, requiring no permanent modifications and typically taking under an hour. It bolts directly to Mishimoto or some other aftermarket charge pipes, and includes a silicone coupler for the hot side. You also get a four-piece air splitter to help direct more air into the intercooler core, and a silicone intercooler-to-throttle-body hose built for high boost conditions.
