Since the new Miata doesn't come with a factory oil cooler, Mishimoto developed this direct-fit kit to help manage heat. You get a 19-row stacked-plate oil cooler, application-specific mounting brackets, braided stainless steel lines with -10AN fittings, and a thermostatic sandwich plate. The 19-row stacked-plate cooler is positioned in front of the radiator for maximum airflow, and the braided stainless steel lines ensure a clean and secure connection to the engine. Mishimoto engineers observed significant temperature drops, up to 57 degrees Fahrenheit, with their non-thermostatic version, and this thermostatic model adds an extra layer of control. The thermostatic sandwich plate helps the engine warm up faster by bypassing the cooler when the oil is cold, and then opens up to regulate temperature as the oil heats up. This kit comes in a stealth black powdercoat finish.
