Mishimoto built this heat exchanger from the ground up, eliminating plastic components in favor of all-aluminum construction. The end tanks, core, and ports are CNC-machined aluminum, and the entire unit is TIG-welded for solid strength. They even added strutted tubes inside the core to help resist bowing and flexing. Beyond its robust build, this unit offers significantly improved cooling. The core volume is increased by 23 percent, and the external fin surface area is expanded by 44 percent. Combined with a dual-pass flow design and louvered fins, it greatly boosts cooling capacity over the stock heat exchanger.
