The NGK Laser Iridium spark plugs use an iridium alloy on the center electrode, which has an extremely high melting point and is six times harder than platinum. This design helps ensure a stable spark and offers improved durability for today's engines. NGK builds these plugs with a pure alumina silicate ceramic insulator that offers superior strength and helps with heat transfer away from the plug.
