Do I need a separate controller to use the color-changing features?

This version of the ORACLE Lighting ColorSHIFT Halo Kit 2510-334 does not include a controller. You will need to purchase a controller separately to adjust the colors and brightness of the halos.

How are these halos mounted inside the headlight?

The ORACLE Lighting ColorSHIFT Halo Kit uses pre-installed 3M adhesive tape on the back of the PCB (printed circuit board). This allows for easy mounting to the headlight housing. Refer to the manufacturer's installation instructions for details.

What kind of LED is used in this kit?

ORACLE's SMD (Surface Mount Diode) halos use an advanced LED chip to produce strong light output while using minimal power. These 3-Chip 5050 SMD rings are bright, and the user has full control over the ring brightness.

The ColorSHIFT(tm) Halo Kit can produce any color including whites from 3000K-15000K with the push of a button. This allows the user to dial-in the exact color rings that they desire. These 3-Chip 5050 SMD rings are BRIGHT, and for some they may be too bright, that is why (for the first time) the user has full control over the ring brightness. ORACLE SMD or "Surface Mount Diode" Halos utilize an advanced type of LED chip that can produce brilliant light output while only consuming a small amount of power. The SMD chips are installed onto a CAD designed 6-layer PCB (Printed Circuit Board) which is very sturdy and will not break if pressured. The PCB can easily be mounted to a headlight housing using the pre-installed 3M adhesive tape backing.
