Product Details

Classic Mopar E-body cars are known for straight-line muscle, but the factory suspension on a 1970-1974 Dodge Challenger or Plymouth Barracuda leaves a lot on the table when it comes to handling. QA1's Level 2 Handling Kit replaces both the front and rear suspension, converting your E-body to a modern coilover setup with rack-and-pinion steering that completely changes how the car drives.

Up front, a tubular K-member sheds weight compared to the factory unit and opens up room for long tube headers, which is a practical consideration for anyone running a built motor. Modular motor mounts accommodate engine swaps including Gen 3 Hemis. The included tubular control arms and rack-and-pinion steering rack replace the original recirculating ball setup, giving the car a much more direct and responsive feel. The front suspension bolts in without any cutting or welding, which keeps the installation accessible.

The rear uses a triangulated 4-link layout that provides a more planted feel on both the street and track. You can correct the wheelbase of your classic Mopar to make room for larger wheels and tires, and the ride height is adjustable with 0 to 2 inches of drop available. QA1's Proma Star double adjustable coilover shocks are included front and rear, letting you dial in ride quality for the street and then tighten things up for autocross or road course events.

All tubular components come powder-coated, and installation hardware is included. The kits work with 8-3/4-inch, Ford 9-inch, and Dana 60 rear axles, so choose the appropriate part number for your axle. Front and rear sway bars reduce body roll during cornering and hard launches. Rear installation requires a small amount of cutting and welding on the frame and axle housing. Kits use Mustang II-style spindles, giving you plenty of brake upgrade options. Motor mounts are sold separately. QA1 manufactures these components in the USA, and the shocks are eligible for a limited lifetime warranty.
