This is the Rancho RS5000X shock absorber, part number RS55289, designed for your 2001-2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. It's built to give you a more controlled ride, whether you're on the pavement or hitting some trails.

Rancho uses a unique valving system and an advanced compression setup to help improve how your truck handles. The shock features a 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod that's tough against scuffs and corrosion, plus double-welded loops at stress points for extra strength. Inside, a 35mm sintered iron piston adds to its structural integrity. The large twin-tube body is filled with fluid that handles extreme temperatures, from -40 to 248°F, helping to keep things cool and maintain control. A low-friction seal keeps the gas and oil in, ensuring quicker rebound and smoother compression.

You'll also notice a smoother ride thanks to the polyurethane rebound bumper and rubber bushings that soak up harshness. The fluon-banded piston responds well to changing road conditions.
