Rancho builds these struts with a nitro-carburized piston rod that resists scuffs and corrosion, and they use double-welded loops at stress points for added strength. Inside, a sintered iron piston and a low-friction seal help manage fluid flow for consistent performance. The large twin-tube body is filled with all-weather fluid, allowing it to operate smoothly across a wide range of temperatures, from -40 to 248°F, which helps reduce damping performance fade. A polyurethane rebound bumper and rubber bushings work to absorb impacts, while the fluon-banded piston adjusts to changing road conditions for a smoother ride.

This strut features Rancho's Progressive Engagement Valving, custom-tuned for the Pathfinder, to help minimize rough impacts at low speeds.
