The Rancho RS9000XL shock absorber is built with a 2.75-inch tri-tube body, which is application-specific and filled with all-weather fluid. This design helps the shock operate cooler, allowing for increased vehicle control and the ability to handle internal temperatures ranging from -40 to 248°F. This shock features a 1.25-inch sintered iron piston for structural integrity and an 18mm nitro-carburized piston rod that resists scuffs and corrosion. A low-friction, self-lubricating seal helps retain gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression. The RS9000XL also includes a graphite-filled fluon-banded piston and a polyurethane rebound bumper and bushings to absorb ride harshness and improve responsiveness. The nitrogen gas is pressurized to 120 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixing, which helps reduce damping performance fade and foaming.
