Rancho 84-01 Jeep Cherokee Rear RS5000X Shock

When you're working on the rear suspension of your 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee, you'll get one Rancho RS5000X shock absorber in this package. This shock is designed to handle both daily driving and more rugged terrain, offering an improved feel on and off the road. It uses a unique valving system that helps regulate fluid transfer to absorb impacts smoothly, which means you'll notice less harshness over bumps.

Rancho built these shocks to last. You'll find a 16mm nitro-carburized piston rod that resists scuffs and corrosion, along with double-welded loops at stress points for extra strength. The large twin-tube body is filled with all-weather fluid, allowing it to operate cooler and maintain control even in extreme temperatures, from -40 to 248°F. A fluon-banded piston also enhances responsiveness to changing road conditions, contributing to a smoother ride overall.

To help keep things working right, these shocks are pressurized with nitrogen gas to 150 PSI. This helps prevent air from mixing with the oil, which reduces damping performance fade and foaming. You also get a protective polyvinyl boot to shield the rod.
