This is a RockJock Johnny Joint rod end, a popular choice for fabricators building custom suspension systems. It's designed to give you a full 30 degrees of unrestricted movement in any direction, which is notably more than a standard heim joint can offer. The high-density urethane bushings inside the joint provide a level of cushioning that a heim joint simply can't match, making for a more comfortable ride.

The center ball is heat-treated and cross-drilled so you can lubricate it easily through the zerk fitting. It's held in place by two heavy-duty, heat-treated washers and a snap ring. This particular joint has a 2 1/2 inch diameter, a 2.440 inch ball width, a .570 inch hole for the thru-bolt, and a 1 1/4 inch - 12 right-hand threaded shank that's 2.3 inches long. It comes finished in a gold zinc plating.
