The RockJock Johnny Joint rod end is designed for just that, offering a full 40 degrees of unrestricted movement in any direction. That's a lot more than you'd get from a standard heim joint, and it comes with the added benefit of cushioning thanks to the high-density urethane bushing that surrounds the inner ball.

This particular joint is a 2-inch diameter unit, featuring a heat-treated center ball that's cross-drilled for easy lubrication right through the bolt hole. It's retained by two heavy-duty, heat-treated side washers and a snap ring. The shank has 2 1/4 inches of 1-inch-14 left-hand threads, and the ball itself has a 1.600-inch mounting width with a 0.625-inch thru-bolt hole. It also comes with a zerk fitting so you can easily grease it up, and it's finished in a gold zinc plating to help resist corrosion.
