The inner ball is heat-treated and cross-drilled for lubrication, and it's surrounded by high-density urethane bushings. These bushings provide a cushioning effect that heim joints can't match, while still allowing for up to 30 degrees of unrestricted movement in any direction. The shank has 2 1/4 inches of 3/4-inch-16 left-hand threads, and the ball has a 2.190-inch mounting width with a .482-inch hole for the thru-bolt.
