The heat-treated center ball in this RockJock Johnny Joint rod end is cross-drilled for lubrication, a detail that matters when you're building a custom suspension system. This joint is designed for fabricators who need a lot of flex, offering up to 40 degrees of unrestricted movement in any direction. That's significantly more than a standard heim joint, which typically tops out around 22 degrees. The high-density urethane bushings inside provide a cushioning effect that a heim joint just can't match, helping to absorb road vibrations.

This particular joint is a narrow, 2-inch diameter forged body. It comes with 2.3 inches of 7/8-inch-14 right-hand threads on the shank, and the ball itself has a 2.115-inch mounting width with a .490-inch through-bolt hole. It also includes a zerk fitting so you can easily grease it, keeping the internals well-lubricated. The joint internals are held in place by two heavy-duty, heat-treated side washers and a snap ring, all finished in a gold zinc plating.
