The inner ball is encased in a high-density urethane bushing, which provides a level of cushioning that a metal-on-metal heim joint just can't match. The heat-treated center ball is cross-drilled so you can easily lubricate it through the zerk fitting, and the whole assembly is held together with heavy-duty washers and a snap ring. This particular joint has a narrow 2-inch body and a 9-inch shank with 3.5 inches of 1-inch-14 RH threads.
