If you're hitting the trails with larger tires on your 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee, 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee, or 1997-2006 TJ/Wrangler, you know how easily stock tie rods can bend. This heavy-duty steering kit from Rugged Ridge is designed to beef up your steering system and prevent those trail-ending bends. It's a bolt-on solution that gives you one-ton strength without needing to modify your steering knuckles.

The heart of this kit is the true DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) tubing used for the tie rod and drag link. This means the tubes are made from a single piece of steel, cold-rolled and drawn through dies to achieve a solid 1/4-inch wall thickness. Because there are no seams or welds, these tubes are incredibly strong and far less likely to fail under stress. The heavy-duty 7/8-inch rod ends feature standard tapered ends, so they fit directly into your stock knuckle applications. This kit also includes a steering damper to help smooth out steering feedback.

Keep in mind that this kit is not recommended for vehicles with over 4 inches of suspension lift or under 2 inches of lift. It also won't work with factory Rubicon wheels, smaller OEM steel wheels, or wheels with deep backspacing. Ensure your wheel setup is compatible before installation.
