Skunk2 Alpha Series Honda B18A/B Connecting Rods

Skunk2 takes their 4340 chromoly material seriously, working closely with their foundry and performing extensive testing to ensure consistency and strength. Each rod goes through comprehensive heat-treating, tempering, and shot-peening processes to reduce fatigue and enhance durability. They are also magna-flux inspected to guarantee integrity. The H-beam design itself is one of the strongest configurations available, capable of supporting over 900 horsepower. Skunk2 uses two-piece forgings for the rod caps, which allows for precise alignment of the metal's grain along the cap to better handle stress, ensuring a tight fit without brittle materials.

These rods also feature unique dual oil passages at the pin ends. Unlike simpler designs, these offset passages are carefully positioned to provide continuous lubrication and cooling around the entire wrist pin throughout each phase of the engine cycle, which further increases the rod's lifespan and reliability. They come balanced to within 1 gram and include 3/8-inch ARP2000 bolts, along with bronze wrist pin bushings, ready for installation.
