The manufacturing process includes shot peening, where the steel is blasted with hard pellets at high speeds. This compresses the surface of the steel, increasing its tensile strength and making the spring more durable and resistant to fatigue. Before they're finished, each spring is preset by compressing it completely until the coils touch. This process removes stress and fatigue, helping to prevent sagging over time.
