These Skyjacker Softride rear leaf springs are built with American steel that's been shot-peened with hard steel pellets. This process compresses the surface of the steel, increasing its tensile strength, which is key for achieving good wheel travel and a comfortable ride without sacrificing the spring's lifespan. They're designed to give your 1955-1975 Jeep CJ5, CJ6, or Willys about 3.5 to 4 inches of lift.
Unlike springs that use cinch-style clips which can cause binding and friction, these Softride springs use bolt-style clips to eliminate that issue. The leaves themselves taper over their entire length, creating more flex at the ends. This design helps distribute loads more evenly across a larger area, reducing the chance of one leaf digging into the one above it, which further contributes to a smoother ride and better performance off-road.
