9005XS Style SilverStar Halogen Headlight Bulb

Sylvania has been making automotive lighting for decades, and the SilverStar line represents their step up from basic factory bulbs. This 9005XS (also known as HB3A) uses a specially tuned filament and proprietary halogen gas mixture to push out more light down the road while shifting the color temperature to 4000K, which reads as a noticeably whiter beam compared to the yellowish tone of standard halogens.

At 65 watts and 1,700 lumens, the 9005XS SilverStar runs on the same power as your factory bulb, so there is no rewiring or relay harness to worry about. It drops straight into the existing P20d socket. The T-4 bulb shape measures 0.48 inches in diameter and 3.02 inches overall, matching the original fitment. Sylvania applies a blue ceramic coating to the glass envelope, which is what filters the output toward that whiter color without sacrificing useful light output.

Sylvania recommends replacing headlight bulbs in pairs so both sides match in brightness and color. These bulbs are DOT-compliant and legal for on-road use across all 50 states.
